2015 Evening 10's

2015 Evening 10's Series, Wednesdays 15th April to August 26th.
This year's series gets under way on Wednesday 15th April with a start time of 7.00 pm (they get later as the season progresses) on the E.81 course. From then until August 26th competition will be intense for the six Trophies involved - Senior Men, Juniors and Senior Ladies on Handicap Times plus Mens and Ladies on Fastest Times and Veterans on Standard. Keep in touch with each week's result via the website; full results will be given throughout the season, along with the Handicap Times and Fastest Times tables. Click on Time Trials on the Main Menu and then Evening 10's on the Time Trial menu or click here to go straight to the results.

Club members are reminded that they are obliged to marshal a number of the Evening 10's throughout the season (exact number is in proportion to number of events ridden last year) or find a replacement if they are unable to be there - and to let the on-the-day organiser know the name of the replacement.

Track Training

Club Annual General Meeting, Wednesday 10th September.
The 2014 AGM will be held at the Clubroom, Mountnessing Village Hall, starting at 7.30 pm. All members are urged to attend as there are major decisions to be made.

The Committee will be putting forward some interesting ideas which will affect all members and if you are at the AGM you will be able to put your views forward.

Various positions on the Committee are currently vacant and there are also plenty of opportunities for other members to help with the running of the Club so now is the time to consider what you can do.

The AGM Documentation has been posted or emailed to all members and is also available on the Members section of the website. Printed copies will also be available at the AGM.

Prize Presentation

Annual Dinner & Prize Presentation
The Club's 125th Annual Dinner & Prize Presentation will be taking place on Saturday 22nd February 2014 at Stock Brook Country Club, Billericay. With a subsidy from Club funds the ticket price has been kept at last year's bargain price of £32.00 (half price for under-16's) and in addition this year diners will receive a free welcome drink on arrival. By popular request, this year there will be a disco rather than band and “Steve's Disco” will be there to add to your enjoyment.
Due to popular request the start time has been put back to 6.30 for 7.00 p.m.

Dinner Organiser George Shakespeare is taking bookings so let him have your order and money as soon as possible.
Email him at for more details.

If you have a 32nd Association Trophy, then that is also wanted urgently. The 32nd Prize Presentation will be held with our Prize Presentation Dinner and Christmas Social Evening at the Clubroom on Wednesday 17th December and the trophies have to be engraved before then. Members' Section

Club members are reminded that there is a section of the website which is only available to those Club members who have registered. The contents include the up to date Club database and other material which is really private to Club members and shouldn't be available to the whole world wide web. To enter the section you will need to register and this can be done by clicking on Login in the left hand menubar.

Warning - Stolen Manhole Covers
A number of local riders have reported that manhole covers are being stolen for scrap metal, leaving open holes in the road. Clearly this causes a great hazard should a cyclist hit one of these holes. Please take care out there and should you see one missing then report it to the local Council in order that it can be replaced.

Alert - Stolen Bikes
Will all Club members please be aware of a recent spate of bikes being stolen in Essex from outside pubs/cafes whilst Club Run's are taking refreshment inside. Either padlock the bikes or keep them in sight, preferably both. Alternatively don't stop and just keep riding!
On Line Facilities

Entries for Club Events
You can enter Weekend events and Evening 10's via our On Line entry forms. Click here and then select event to enter.

Result Notification
All Shaftesbury riders are required to notify the Time Trial Secretary of their results in Open and Association events. This is so that winners of Season long competitions can be determined as well as Club records. It also makes it possible to give correct handicaps in Club events. Additionally, the information can be made available on this website so others can read of your successes. To give all visitors to the website the latest details of time trial and road race successes, please send in results for all your races (except Club events) with your time or placing, other Club members' results and the winners details.
Click here to send in details.
