START at paint mark in Mountnessing Road by field entrance on left, approximately 700 yards north of Swallows Cross (Swallows Cross is on road between Mountnessing and Blackmore). Proceed northwards and straight over junction with Ingatestone Road (Jessops Crossroads) (M) (WITH GREAT CARE). Continue, past Blackmore pond and Highwood Woods to turn at Loves Green by lane to Cooksmill Green and Roxwell (opposite St. Paul's Church, Highwood) (M). Turn left into lane and immediately turn round green triangle of lane, then turn right towards Blackmore. Retrace via Highwood Woods, Blackmore and Jessops Crossroads (GREAT CARE) where bear LEFT keeping on Ingatestone Road. Keep straight on, past road junction on left, into Green Street and continue approximately 600 yards to FINISH opposite field entrance on right. After finishing carry straight on, past Trueloves, to Roman Road (B1002) where turn right to return to Mountnessing Village Hall.

START at centre of large lay-by area in Thoby Lane, Mountnessing, approximately 0.2 miles from the junction with Roman Road. Proceed in a north-westerly direction towards Blackmore. At Swallows Cross (M) continue straight on to junction with Ingatestone Road (Jessops Crossroads) (M) where straight over (WITH GREAT CARE). Continue, past Blackmore pond and Highwood Woods to turn at Loves Green by lane to Cooksmill Green and Roxwell (opposite St. Paul's Church, Highwood (M). Turn left into lane and immediately turn round green triangle of lane, then turn right towards Blackmore. Retrace via Highwood Woods, Blackmore to FINISH at field entrance opposite TP10, approximately 50 yards before junction with Wenlocks Lane, which is approximately 0.3 miles before Jessops Crossroads.

Riders are asked to exercise GREAT CARE on the outward journey when passing St. Annes Road, the sharp right-hand turn before Swallows Cross, the junction at Swallows Cross and at Jessops Crossroads. When returning to the HQ after finishing GREAT CARE is still required when turning at Jessops.
